New Zealand will continue to provide military support to Ukraine until the end of 2026

New Zealand will continue to provide military support to Ukraine and train the Ukrainian military until December 2026. About this stated Prime Minister of New Zealand Christopher Lacson.
“New Zealand is steadfastly supporting Ukraine in its fight against Russia’s illegal and unprovoked invasion. That is why we are continuing the deployment of up to 100 New Zealand Defense Force personnel to train Ukrainian soldiers in the UK and across Europe, as well as to provide intelligence, communications and logistical support until December 2026.” Lacson noted.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Winston Peters noted that New Zealand understands the complexity and dynamics of the situation in Ukraine. According to him, the country supports efforts aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace and closely monitors the progress of negotiations on a potential ceasefire.
“New Zealand is also actively involved in UK-led discussions on options to support peace should the conflict end.” he added.
The Ambassador of Ukraine to New Zealand, Vasyl Myroshnychenko, thanked the government for the continued assistance:
“I am extremely grateful to Christopher Lacson’s government for expanding New Zealand’s military aid to support Ukraine’s self-defense.”
