Next week, Ukraine will receive 2.5 billion euros from windfall revenues from frozen Russian assets.
EU High Representative Josep Borrell emphasized the importance of avoiding blocking these financial resources through legal proceedings
“As you know, we still have six legal decisions (within the framework of military aid to Ukraine through the European Peace Fund – ed.), which cannot be implemented because one of the member states refuses them. We have to avoid such a situation around (the use of) proceeds from Russian assets. We have such a solution, and we will present it today… The first tranche of this money will go (will be paid – ed.) next week, in July, the second will be made a little later. They must not be stopped. They must be used and we have legal procedures to avoid blocking of any kind”, – said Borrell.
The first tranche of these funds is scheduled to be paid as early as next week in July, with another tranche later.
