North Korea has sent a mysterious general to command troops in Russia

North Korea sent Colonel General Kim Yong-bok to lead its military forces in Russia. He is considered one of the country’s 10 most powerful military figures and often cooperates with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. About this reported edition of The Wall Street Journal.
Colonel General Kim Yong-bok rarely appeared in public or was mentioned in the media. His activities as the head of the North Korean special forces involved the preservation of anonymity. However, now he has become a prominent figure.
Kim Yong-bok is currently North Korea’s top military representative in Russia, where more than 11,000 North Korean soldiers are assisting Moscow in military operations. His presence was confirmed by the officials of Kyiv and Seoul.
The main task of the colonel general is to integrate North Korean military units with Russian ones, exchange combat experience for use at home, and organize preparation for future missions. It is expected that Kim Yong-bok himself will not take part in hostilities, but his mission shows the serious support of Russia by the DPRK.
The move was part of increased cooperation between Pyongyang and Moscow following Vladimir Putin’s visit to North Korea in June, when a mutual defense treaty was signed.
