Over 17,000 people urgently evacuated due to wildfires in Canada (video)

In the Canadian province of Manitoba, a state of emergency has been declared due to large-scale forest fires that have engulfed the central and western regions. On May 28, the authorities announced the need for the urgent evacuation of more than 17,000 people, including residents of the city of Flin-Flon, from dangerous areas. About this informs Reuters.
Provincial Premier Vab Kinyu noted that some of the evacuees will be accommodated in sports complexes and community centers in Winnipeg and other settlements. The federal military will be involved in the evacuation and will help with the transportation of the injured. Kinew stressed that this is one of the largest evacuations for the region, which requires proper coordination between all levels of government.
In the neighboring province of Alberta, the situation also remains difficult — the fires forced a temporary halt in some oil production. In particular, Cenovus Energy cut the number of workers at its Foster Creek facility near Chipewyan Lake, where the fire has already destroyed about 3,000 hectares of forest. Another large fire covered 1,600 hectares near the town of Swan Hills — about 1,200 people were evacuated from there.
We will remind you that on April 19, 2025, information appeared about a fire near the Canadian city of Edmonton, as a result of which the Museum of Ukrainian Culture and Heritage caught fire. The fire spread from the adjacent field.
