Pakistan and India held one of the largest aerial battles in history.

Pakistan and India fought one of the biggest dogfights in modern aviation history. Approximately 125 fighters from both sides took part in the confrontation, which lasted more than an hour. About this informs CNN.
Pakistan claims to have shot down five Indian planes, while there is no official confirmation of casualties from the Indian side. Both sides deliberately avoided crossing the border in view of the events of 2019 when an Indian pilot was shot down and publicly humiliated on Pakistani soil. Pakistan warned the population of possible strikes, trying to minimize the number of casualties, while the Indian side carried out repeated attacks on identified targets.
We will remind that the escalation of the conflict began with a terrorist act in the Indian region of Jammu and Kashmir, when militants opened fire on tourists on April 22. As a result of the attack, 26 people died – one citizen of Nepal and 25 citizens of India. After that, for about two weeks, firing continued along the Indo-Pak border, during which both sides exchanged accusations of provocation.
On the night of May 7, the Indian armed forces announced the start of Operation Sindur and struck nine targets on the territory of Pakistan and in the region of Jammu and Kashmir, which India considers occupied by Pakistan. According to the Indian side, terrorist attacks against India were being prepared from these places. At the same time, it was noted that Pakistan’s military facilities were not among the targets of the strikes.
