Pakistan announced the beginning of a military operation against India.

On the night of May 10, Pakistan announced the start of a military operation in response to India’s actions. This was announced by the country’s government, informs CNN.
“Operation “Banyan Al-Marsous” has begun”, – the message says.
The name of the operation, which comes from a verse of the Koran, means “unbreakable wall”. Pakistan’s military said it had initiated actions in response to “Indian aggression”. During the operation, the Pakistani Fatah-1 missile system was used, which struck a number of Indian objects. In particular, Pakistan announced strikes on Pathankot airfield and Udhampur air base.
In its statement, the Pakistani military said that in accordance with the principle of “an eye for an eye”, they struck Indian air bases, from which, according to them, missiles were launched on the territory of Pakistan.
For its part, India said that the Indian Armed Forces respond appropriately to all Pakistani attacks. After announcing the start of the operation, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif initiated an urgent meeting of the National Command Body, which oversees the country’s nuclear arsenal.
According to the US State Department, Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a conversation with the commander of the Pakistani army, Asim Munir, and offered a mediating role for the US. Rubio continued to urge both sides to find ways to de-escalate, the message said, and offered the United States’ help “in starting constructive negotiations to avoid future conflicts.”
