Poland adapts civilian airports for military use

Civilian airports in Poland are being adapted for military missions. This was stated by the Minister of Defense of Poland, Władysław Kosyniak-Kamysh, informs PAP agency.
“We need more airports that are used for both purposes. Each airport must be somehow adapted and adapted to the possibility of cooperation and work with the military. Some Polish airports are civil-military, the best example is the Krakow-Balice airport, which has an air base and a civilian terminal. Part of the Chopin Airport in Warsaw is also a military port.” Kosyniak-Kamysh noted.
Currently, the Ministry of Defense of Poland is negotiating with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Development regarding the adaptation of other civilian airports, of which there are 15 in the country, which is twice as many as the military. Expansion is underway at Rzeszów Airport, and preparatory work is underway in Krakow. At Katowice and Wroclaw airports, a cargo hub is being built, as well as a railway line and fuel reserves.
In Szczecin, the resort is planned to be developed for a dual purpose – to increase passenger traffic and respond to emergency situations, including natural disasters or security threats. In the military part of these objects, transport and cargo hubs, evacuation centers and aid stations can be located.
