Poland raised F-16 fighters due to missile attack on Ukraine

The International Court of Justice of the United Nations has determined the terms within which Ukraine and Russia must submit their explanations regarding the admissibility of their mutual accusations of genocide in accordance with the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of this Crime. About this reported court press office.

“The court invited Ukraine and the Russian Federation to submit their views on this issue by May 20 and September 22, 2025, respectively. Then the court will decide whether the counterclaims are admissible.”  – said in the statement.

It is also noted that on November 18, 2024, Russia, in response to Ukraine’s accusations of genocide, filed a counterclaim in the case “Ukraine v. Russian Federation”, making its own accusations of genocide in accordance with the Convention on the Prevention of Genocide. Ukraine denied their admissibility.

The first hearings in this case took place in March 2022, but Russia refused to participate in them. In the same month, the International Court of Justice of the United Nations ordered the Russian Federation to immediately end the war in Ukraine, but the Russian authorities ignored this decision.

Later, representatives of the Russian Federation tried to convince the court that it did not have jurisdiction to consider this case, claiming that Ukraine’s lawsuit was allegedly not based on the provisions of the Genocide Convention. At the same time, Ukraine urged the UN International Court of Justice to reject these objections.
