Polish carriers plan to close the border with Ukraine again

Polish truckers intend to block the border with Ukraine again, this time at the Dorogusk-Yagodin checkpoint. About the plans for the campaign reported Committee for the Protection of Carriers and Employers in the Transport Sector of Poland.

“Today we registered a protest at the largest border with Ukraine – Dorogusk. Disappointed by the lack of action by the Polish government, we want to restore the balance on the transport market, which was disturbed after the cancellation of permits for Ukrainian carriers.” – said in the statement of the Polish carriers.

There are no details regarding the beginning of the protest and its duration in the message. The spokeswoman of Volyn Customs, Valentyna Chernysh, said that as of now, no official information has been received from the Polish side about the preparation of the protest.

The State Border Service of Ukraine previously informed about possible difficulties with traffic at the checkpoint “Krakivets-Korchova”. From May 8 to mid-June, on the Polish side, a new asphalt surface is planned to be laid on the sections leading to the entry of freight transport into Poland and the exit of passenger cars from it. In connection with the works, some directions will be partially blocked, which will reduce the throughput capacity of the point. Meanwhile, repair work continues on the Ukrainian side — at the Sheghini–Medyka checkpoint.
