“Psychosis in social networks” and air defense “not in competence”: Boris Filatov responded to the comments of Ukrainians after the tragedy in Dnipro in the usual style

On March 30, Dnipro mourns — the city honors the memory of those who died as a result of another Russian attack. The shelling that took place on March 28 took the lives of four civilians. The number of wounded continues to grow. As reported the head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional military administration Serhiy Lysak, as of now, at least 28 victims are known. Nine of them are still in hospitals, two are in serious condition.

During the night attack on the city, Russian forces used more than 20 kamikaze drones, most of which were destroyed by Ukrainian air defenses. Despite this, the strike caused serious damage – high-rise and private buildings, commercial establishments, service stations, and dozens of cars were damaged. One of the enemy strikes hit the territory of the Bartolomeo hotel and restaurant complex, where a large-scale fire broke out.

Mayor of Dnipro Boris Filatov, widely known for his sharp and often obscene statements, as well as no less colorful boorish responses to comments on social networks when someone dares to ask him uncomfortable questions, did not change his usual manner of communicating with the public this time either.

In a post on his Facebook page, Filatov harshly reacted to the wave of alarming reports about the alleged numerous victims in “Bartolomeo” – he called them “psychosis in social networks” and categorically denied information about the dead:

“All of you have already seen the official statements and news.
But I want to add something else personally.

First.
Tomorrow is a day of mourning in Dnipro and I ask everyone to observe it properly.

Others.
Comments on my personal Facebook will be temporarily closed. Because while we are doing everything possible and impossible to help people, hundreds of useful idiots and mysterious closed profiles are massively spreading Russian propaganda narratives or simply reproducing lies on social networks.
Because the psychosis in social networks about “those who died in Bartholomew” is just psychosis. Not a single person died there.
But hundreds of emotionally exhausted fellow citizens filled the entire Internet with their noise. So you either trust the authorities, the mayor, the government, the Defense Forces and the President, or continue to spew your fiction elsewhere. As well as frankly stupid questions like “Filatov, when will you buy anti-aircraft defense??!”.

Let’s close this topic as well. Filatov does not have the opportunity to buy air defense systems!!! And in the same way, Filatov cannot put machine guns or calculations with rockets on the roofs of your houses!!! First, it is impossible. Secondly, it would not be a defense, but a risk of shooting the neighbors. But no matter how many times I explain elementary things, after every shelling there are heaps of alternatively gifted people who insist on such initiatives. Or they start writing about “drones shooting down drones.”

Dear, you should first learn the basics and then realize that while you are writing nonsense in the comments, really knowledgeable people are taking care of all the necessary questions. I’m just tired of arguing and proving the obvious. I need to WORK, and not waste time on dialogues with crazy people, half of whom take care of my hometown from Hungary or France.

The third.
After all my meetings with the heads of condominiums and residents, I will emphasize once again: the city will not leave anyone to their own devices. We will help you with everything you need.

The fourth.
A request to my foreign readers and everyone who has an account on the “X” network.
Now in the West, the company Tesla is not very fond of and it is being trolled in every way. So please give Elon this picture. Because he is such an ardent supporter of the Russians.” wrote Filatov on Facebook and Telegram.

The mayor of Dnipro, Boris Filatov, appealed to his followers to send Elon Musk, a billionaire from US President Donald Trump’s team and the founder of the Tesla company, a photo of the Tesla electric car destroyed by Russian shelling in Dnipro. In the published photo, some people noticed that Filatov was allegedly showing Mask an obscene gesture.

It should be noted that it was during the shelling of the Dnipro that the mayor found time to set up a post in Facebook and respond to local residents’ comments:

“Please remove your fingers from the keyboards, move away from the windows and stop shedding tears behind a famous Dnipro restaurant. Well, what kind of people are you? Well, frankly.

This is war. Cruel and ruthless. None of your “postyk” in social networks will help. Just try to stay in safe places and wait for official information from the military administration.”

A Facebook user asked the mayor under his post about the protection of the Dnipro from the Shahed Air Force:

Boris Filatov answered her:

Despite the fact that many Dnipro residents support Boris Filatov and thank him for his principled position and tough rhetoric, his activity in social networks is not only admirable. Some are outraged by the tone in which the mayor communicates with the residents – the people who elected him to the position. Others sincerely wonder how the mayor finds time for emotional posts on Facebook at a time when drones are flying over the city, high-rise buildings are burning, and war debris is exploding overhead.
