Rubio explained why the United States voted against the UN resolution condemning Russia’s aggression

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the United States voted against the UN resolution condemning the aggression of the Russian Federation, as they are trying to bring both sides to the negotiating table and end the war. About this informs Breitbart News.
The US voted against a joint resolution passed on the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion, and also abstained from voting on its own draft resolution.
“As for the broader resolution, we believe that the UN should return to its statutory mission of preventing and ending war and conflict.” Rubio explained.
According to him, the USA considers it inappropriate to adopt a decision in the UN that will be “antagonistic to any side”. Washington is trying to facilitate negotiations, however, as the State Secretary noted, Ukraine allegedly did not agree.
Rubio also said the U.S. had approached the UN Security Council with its “compromise,” which he called “very fair wording” and one that “basically says that war is a terrible thing.” He added that Russia did not use the right of veto.
