Russian delegation to wait for Ukrainian representatives in Istanbul on May 15: Peskov’s statement

Representatives of Russia will wait for representatives of Ukraine in Turkey on May 15, 2025 for negotiations. This was stated by the spokesman of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Dmytro Peskov.
“Our delegation will be there and wait for the Ukrainian side,” — said Peskov.
He did not specify whether the head of the Kremlin himself would come. The composition of the delegation also remains unknown.
“When there is an instruction from the president, then we will do it,” Putin’s spokesman added.
At the same time, a Washington Post source among former high-ranking officials of the Kremlin said on condition of anonymity that Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Putin’s assistant for international affairs Yuriy Ushakov are planning to come to the talks in Istanbul.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, emphasized that he is expecting Volodymyr Putin in Istanbul:
“It is Putin who determines everything in Russia, it is he who must resolve the issue of war. This is his war. That is why the negotiations must be with him.”, — emphasized Zelensky.
US President Donald Trump’s participation in the talks is also not excluded. Earlier he announced the possibility of coming, although his participation will depend on the presence of Putin.
