Signal messenger no longer responds to requests from Ukrainian security forces

The Signal messenger, popular among military personnel, no longer responds to requests from Ukrainian law enforcement agencies. About this reported Deputy Chairman of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Serhii Demediuk.

“While political changes are taking place in the USA, Signal has stopped responding to requests from law enforcement agencies. Previously, the messenger responded to similar requests”, – said Demediuk.

According to him, Signal had a separate channel for communication with Ukrainian law enforcement officers. At the same time, he suggested that the lack of communication from the messenger’s administration may be temporary.

“Previously, Telegram was the only messenger that did not respond to the appeal of law enforcement officers. Now Signal has joined it.” – added Demediuk.

He noted that law enforcement officers often turn to the administration of messengers because of cases of phishing and financial fraud.

“After the arrest of Durov in France, the situation with Telegram improved – they provided a tool through which law enforcement officers can communicate with the messenger’s administration.” – added Demediuk.
