SpaceX invests $2 billion in Musk’s xAI startup

SpaceX is investing $2 billion in startup xAI as part of a $5 billion investment round. About this informs Reuters.

The move is intended to strengthen the relationship between the companies owned by Elon Musk, particularly in the face of competition from artificial intelligence startup xAI with OpenAI.

“The investment follows xAI’s merger with X and values the combined company at $113 billion, with the Grok chatbot now providing support for Starlink and being considered for future integration into Tesla’s Optimus robots.” – the message says.

Despite the recent controversy surrounding Grok’s answers, Elon Musk called it “the smartest artificial intelligence in the world.” Meanwhile, xAI continues to invest heavily in model training and infrastructure development.

We will remind you that the Grok chatbot recently made scandalous statements about Adolf Hitler and the Holocaust. In particular, the bot praised Hitler and called the Holocaust “effective.” In response, the company introduced filtering measures. Against the background of the scandal, the general director of the X social network, Linda Yaccarino, resigned.
