We continue to talk about the financial conditions of studying abroad for Ukrainian youth.
In the previous article, we made an estimate for you of a guy studying at a public university in Slovakia.
Today we will introduce you to the expenses of a girl studying at a private university in Poland. Polina is mastering the rather prestigious, albeit narrow specialty “Marketing on the Internet”.
Let’s start with the hostel. Since the university is private, it does not have a dormitory as such. Therefore, the institution rents accommodation for students from the state university.
The cost of such housing costs Polina 325 euros per month. It is about accommodation for two. This is the maximum number of people living in the room, the girl emphasizes.
The hostel provides a bed and mattress for rest. You need to buy the rest of the sleeping comforts yourself.
As well as utensils for cooking. There is a kitchen on the first floor, but all kitchen equipment is a student’s concern.
Many students from Ukraine have to cook on their own, buying products in bulk, because it really saves money. Polina spends about 230 euros a month on food.
Of course, you can’t do without a traditional student snack – coffee and cake, which costs about 10 euros.
Regarding communication. The Internet is included in the price of the hostel, but Polina pays about two euros for the possibility of mobile communication. Not much, because Poland currently has very comfortable tariffs for Ukrainians.
Everyday life. Washing and drying clothes cost two euros each. Such expenses amount to 20 euros per month. Manicure is probably an attribute of every girl. So we include these costs in the estimate: plus 40 euros.
And Polina’s most significant expense is tuition fees, which is 2,000 euros per year.
As you can see, the costs are considerable. So Pauline has to work. He says that there are no problems with vacancies for students in Poland. But there is a nuance. It is important that the student is able to draw up and provide the employer with a clear work/study schedule.
The average salary for student labor is PLN 28 or EUR 22 per hour.
Polina got a job as a waitress. He works three to four days a week for 10-11 hours in a row.
