As of May 1, the heating season ends in Ukraine, and with it, the subsidy for home heating ends. The heating subsidy is automatically recalculated for most recipients, but some citizens need to submit an application and declaration again.

Most citizens will not need to do anything to continue receiving the subsidy. It is automatically transferred to the non-heating season. However, there are categories of citizens who need to contact the social security authorities at their place of residence to re-submit an application and declaration.
It is worth doing this if:
- You first received a subsidy in the 2023-2024 heating season.
- There have been changes in your family composition or place of residence.
- You have debts for communal services of more than 680 hryvnias.
In addition, assistance will be denied to persons who have started to earn more or if there is an adult registered in the household who does not work or study. Those who have recently made a purchase worth more than 50,000 hryvnias or have accumulated more than 100,000 hryvnias in a deposit account can still cancel the subsidy.
