The Armed Forces of Ukraine contributed: a property complex worth more than UAH 260 million was returned to the state.
At one time, this complex was illegally removed from state ownership in connection with the criminal actions of the expositors of the Ministry of Defense.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, in cooperation with the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Office of the Prosecutor General, returned the property complex in the historical part of Kyiv to the state. About this reported press service of the Ministry of Defense.
The property complex, with a total area of more than 3,000 square meters, is located on a plot of land with an area of 0.6 hectares and has an estimated cost of more than 260 million hryvnias.
This complex was previously illegally removed from state ownership due to the criminal actions of former officials of the Ministry of Defense. After the trial, one of the former high-ranking officials was sentenced to 8 years in prison.
Despite the court decision, the property complex remained in illegal use by outsiders for a long time. The perpetrators even tried to resell state property for $6.5 million. Despite the difficulties associated with the destruction of documents, the Ministry of Defense, in cooperation with the specialized prosecutor’s office, ensured the registration of property rights to this real estate.
On July 10, the Ministry of Defense took urgent measures to free the military camp from outsiders. For this, special units of the Military Law and Order Service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Police of Ukraine were involved. Currently, the complex is guarded by one of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Ministry of Defense emphasized that the department is constantly working on the return of illegally withdrawn real estate and will continue this work until 100% of such objects are returned.
