‘The decisions made will not change”: Scholz speaks about Zelensky’s Victory Plan

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, commenting on the Victory Plan presented by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, emphasized that some of his decisions remain unchanged. Scholz said this before the start of the EU summit in Brussels. informs “European truth”.
Scholz emphasized the importance of an opportunity for EU leaders to discuss his victory plan with Zelensky during the summit. He noted that he personally met with the Ukrainian president several times during the last weeks and months.
“I myself did this very actively and repeatedly during the last weeks and months, I met with him (Vladimir Zelenskyi) very often. You know Germany’s position on these issues. Nothing will change in this regard.”, – emphasized Scholz.
Speaking about the key role of supporting Ukraine, Scholz emphasized that the main priority is the organization of solidarity and the provision of means that will help Ukraine defend itself. In addition, he noted that the strategic issues of supporting Ukraine remain on the agenda, and the decisions he made earlier will not be changed.
One of the points of Zelenskyi’s Victory Plan is the cancellation of restrictions on the use of Western long-range weapons to strike military targets in Russia. For several months, Ukraine has been trying to get Germany’s consent to transfer Taurus cruise missiles, but Scholz opposes this decision.
Zelensky also held a bilateral meeting with Scholz in Berlin on October 11, during which he discussed the details of the “victory plan”. The Office of the President of Ukraine noted that this was already the third meeting of the leaders since the fall of 2024, and Zelensky called it the “most important” since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia.
