The EU approved the extension of individual sanctions for violation of the territorial integrity of Ukraine

Ambassadors of the countries of the European Union guessed extension of individual sanctions against persons responsible for undermining or threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine for another six months – until September 15, 2025.
The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, commented on this decision, noting that the European Union is “increasing pressure on Russia.”
“We are expanding our sanctions against almost 2,400 individuals and legal entities due to Russia’s aggression against Ukraine,” she explained.
According to von der Leyen, sanctions restrictions include a ban on entry to EU countries, as well as freezing of assets of persons under sanctions.
The Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Mykhailo Degtyarev, the sister of businessman Alisher Usmanov Gulbakhor Ismailova, businessman and ex-head of the European Jewish Congress Vyacheslav Moshe Kantor, as well as the former head of the Eurochem company Volodymyr Rashevsky were excluded from the sanctions list.
In addition, three deceased persons were excluded from the list – the former head of the USSR government Mykola Ryzhkov, as well as Russian military personnel Andriy Ermishko and Oleksiy Bolshakov.
