“Since 2022, we have already provided more than 135 billion euros to support Ukraine. Our support is unwavering. If the war continues, in any future, in peace negotiations, in reconstruction, in joining the European Union,” Kosta said.

He also emphasized that the EU states have undertaken additional obligations to help Ukraine.

“Member States can immediately increase their support thanks to the increased fiscal space. Several Member States have already announced their commitments of up to €15 billion,” – said the President of the European Council.

Koshta added that the European Council instructed the EU Council to urgently consider new initiatives that should ensure Ukraine’s urgent military and defense needs:

“At the same time, we are preparing to support Ukraine when it decides to start negotiations to help it achieve a positive outcome. This means a just and lasting peace.”
