The government allowed drone manufacturers to include interest on loans in the cost of production
The Cabinet of Ministers adopted a decision that allows manufacturers of drones and radio electronic warfare equipment to take into account the costs of loans in the cost of government contracts — up to 10% of the cost price. About this reported Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyridenko.
“We support the increase in the production of our own weapons. At the request of manufacturers of drones and EW, the government provided the opportunity to include the cost of loans in the price of state contracts – up to 10% of the cost price”, – said Svyridenko.
She noted that this step will allow defense enterprises to develop more actively and reduce financial pressure.
Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal, for his part, announced that a limit has been set on the amount of such expenses — no more than 10% of the cost price.
“This new financial mechanism will allow Ukrainian manufacturers to create weapons and technologies more, faster, more efficiently. We are scaling up our defense industry”, the minister noted.
It will be recalled that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy set the task of preparing an agreement in the amount of $10 to $30 billion regarding the purchase by the United States of drones produced in Ukraine.
“Next – with America, with President Trump, we agreed that they will buy drones from us. There is such an agreement. It is very important to prepare this contract, a serious contract worth 10-20-30 billion dollars.” – explained Zelensky.
