The government helps family-type orphanages: IDP parents are compensated for housing rent

The organization “SOS Children’s Towns”, a long-term partner of the Ministry of Reintegration, is launching a new financial assistance program for family-type children’s homes (DBST). The assistance will be provided in order to meet the needs of DBST in renting housing.

The amount of assistance depends on the number of children placed in DBST and is no more than 22,372 hryvnias per month. The aid will be paid until December 2024 inclusive.

Who can receive financial assistance:

  • DBST, guardian parents / whose mother or father-guardian is an IDP.
  • Priority is given to DBST that have left the territories where hostilities are (were) or temporarily occupied (TOT).

One applicant (who acts as the legal representative of children in DBST and on behalf of the relevant family) can receive this type of financial assistance only once per agreed term in the organization or program.

The territory of providing monetary targeted charitable assistance:

  • The entire territory of Ukraine, except for the TOT, the territories of active hostilities (Donetsk, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhya, and Kherson regions) and possible hostilities.

How to register:

  • To participate in the program, applicants must contact the authorized bodies and services for children in their place of residence.
  • They, in turn, will send an official letter of appeal regarding the provision of such assistance for children who are in DBST, taking into account the above criteria.

The organization “SOS Children’s Villages” does not accept applications from DBST directly. Contact the authorized bodies and services for children at your place of stay.
