The Government of Ukraine has approved the creation of a reserve for the construction of fortifications

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the decision to create a special reserve to ensure the construction of fortification and engineering structures. This reserve provides stocks of the necessary materials that will allow construction work to be started quickly if necessary. About this reported Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal at a government meeting.
“This will be a stockpile of necessary materials that will allow the construction of fortifications to be quickly deployed where necessary and where determined by our military,” the prime minister said.
The representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk, clarified that the new procedure provides not only for the creation, but also for the storage and use of a reserve for the construction of military engineering and fortification structures, in particular during the legal regime of martial law.
The construction of fortifications became one of the key tasks during the war. Buildings are being actively erected in border and frontline regions to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities. In May, the Ministry of Defense announced the completion of works on the construction of protective structures in five regions: Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Kherson and Kharkiv.
In order to effectively control the construction of fortifications, the Verkhovna Rada created a temporary investigative commission that oversees the progress of this critically important task.
