The Ministry of Foreign Affairs officially denies Russian fakes about Ukraine’s plans to use “dirty bombs” or attack nuclear power plants

Diplomats emphasized that Ukraine has neither the intention nor the ability to carry out similar actions.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine categorically denied the latest statements of Russian propaganda, which claim that Ukraine is allegedly planning to use “dirty bombs” or carry out attacks on nuclear power plants.

In accordance with message of the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, such statements are another round of a disinformation campaign by Russia.

“We are once again faced with ridiculous Russian fabrications that Ukraine allegedly intends to use “dirty bombs” or attack nuclear power plants. We officially declare that these accusations have no basis. Ukraine has neither plans nor capabilities to carry out such actions. Russia must stop spreading these dangerous and baseless fabrications.”, – said the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Heorhiy Tykhi.

He also emphasized that Ukraine has always been a loyal member of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) and does not possess “dirty bombs” and has no intention of creating them.

“When Russia first spread these absurd claims in 2022, we invited an international IAEA mission that conducted a comprehensive investigation and completely refuted these allegations. Nothing has changed since then.”, he added.

Ukraine continues to support international efforts on nuclear security and calls on Russia to stop spreading disinformation that threatens global stability.
