The names of the finalists of the national selection for Eurovision 2025 have become known: will Ukraine be able to conquer Europe again

Eurovision is not only the most musical show in the world. It has long been more than just about songs and their artists. Every year, the song contest presents the most painful problems of our time. And its stage is used by countries in order to attract the attention of the widest possible public not only to singing, but also to values, ideas, experiences that are worth a powerful social resonance.

Eurovision is about love, struggle and social problems

To make sure of this, it is enough to recall the resounding victory of the Israeli singer Netta Barzilai, whose performance contradicted all musical canons, but conveyed to the audience the hot topic of harassment today. We can also mention our Jamala, for whom Eurovision became a platform for broadcasting the tragedy of the Crimean Tatars to the whole world.

The victory of the Kalush Orchestra with the song Stefania in 2022 was also symbolic. Their performance combined the Ukrainian ethnic musical tradition with modern styles, and also reflected the resilience and struggle of the Ukrainian people in the conditions of war. Viewers from all over the world saw how culture can be a tool not only for creativity, but also for indomitability, and stood in solidarity with Ukraine through the power of art.
