The new Prime Minister of France has the lowest level of popularity since 1959

Francois Bayroux, who was appointed Prime Minister of France just ten days ago, has become the least popular new head of government since the founding of the Fifth Republic. About this informs BFMTV.
According to the Ifop poll, Bayrou received only 34% support from respondents, the lowest figure among newly appointed prime ministers since 1959. 66% of respondents expressed dissatisfaction with his activities as prime minister.
Bayrou, who has been in politics for over 40 years, has faced numerous challenges since his appointment. In particular, he had trouble appointing new ministers, was in the spotlight for visiting the Po municipal council in the midst of the Mayotte cyclone crisis, and was undecided about his intentions to lead the government.
By comparison, Michel Barnier, appointed in September, received a 55% unfavorable opinion in the same survey just days after his first steps in government. Gabriel Attal, appointed under less difficult conditions, received 46%, and Elizabeth Bourne, appointed in June 2022, 43%.
