The Office of the President reported an online meeting with representatives from the USA and Europe regarding a ceasefire.

Representatives of Ukraine held an online meeting with high-ranking officials from the USA, France, Great Britain and Germany regarding the ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine. The parties discussed ways to put pressure on the Russian Federation to encourage it to agree to a 30-day truce. About this reported in the Office of the President of Ukraine.
The head of OP Andriy Yermak held online meetings with the special representatives of the US president Steven Witkoff and Keith Kellogg, the diplomatic adviser of the French president Emmanuel Bonn, the national security adviser of the British prime minister Jonathan Powell and the German chancellor’s adviser on foreign policy and security Guenther Sautter. Consultations were also held with diplomats of the Northern European and Baltic countries, representatives of the European Council and the European Commission.
During the negotiations, the Ukrainian side was represented by the Minister of Defense Rustem Umyerov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiga, the deputy head of the OP Ihor Zhovkva, as well as the advisers of the head of the President’s Office Daria Zarivna and Oleksandr Bevz. The main topic of discussion was a full and unconditional 30-day ceasefire, an initiative that Ukraine supported during the March meeting in Jeddah at the suggestion of the United States.
“A thirty-day ceasefire would pave the way for meaningful negotiations to achieve a just and lasting peace. If Moscow agrees to this proposal, we are ready for dialogue with the participation and support of the United States and European partners. But if the Kremlin soon chooses escalation over peace, the joint response of the partners must be decisive. Therefore, Ukraine welcomes the draft law on the application of secondary sanctions against Russia developed by congressmen led by Lindsey Graham., – emphasized Yermak.
It will be recalled that on April 27, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia should be concluded as soon as possible, and that Washington is currently determining whether it should continue to act as a mediator. He did not specify how long the Trump administration is willing to wait for a breakthrough in negotiations.
On April 28, the Kremlin reported that Vladimir Putin announced a cease-fire on May 8, 9, and 10, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Victory. Commenting on this initiative, Volodymyr Zelenskyy reminded that Ukraine supports the cease-fire proposed by the US and initiated the 30-day pause, and called Putin’s statement another attempt at manipulation.
