The President of Ukraine signed a law on the return of the powers of the NABU and SAPO

July 31, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi signed Law No. 13533, which restores the powers of NABU and SAP. Earlier on the same day, the document was supported by the Verkhovna Rada.
“As soon as I signed the document, the text will be published immediately. These are guarantees of the normal, independent work of anti-corruption bodies, all law enforcement agencies of our state. The decision is correct. Three hundred and thirty-one deputies. Exactly as it should be – on the basis and in general. It is very important that the state listens to public opinion. Ukraine is a democracy – there is absolutely no doubt. Government officials will also immediately inform the partners of Ukraine about this law.”Volodymyr Zelenskyi said.
This draft law was a response to the previously adopted law No. 12414, which limited the powers of NABU and SAP, caused public indignation and caused a number of protests.
The head of state also announced the adoption of a number of other important decisions, including a law guaranteeing adequate budgetary funding for the Defense Forces of Ukraine. The document provides for the allocation of funds for the purchase of weapons, drones, as well as for payments to servicemen and families of fallen soldiers. Volodymyr Zelenskyi signed this law and emphasized that it is a guarantee of timely payments for defenders on the front line and support for the families of fallen heroes.
Also, on the instructions of the President of Ukraine and in agreement with the military command, a decision was made to introduce an additional 15 days of leave for the military – starting in August. In addition, a law was signed that expands opportunities for veteran enterprises.
