The Russian army launched a massive strike on Kyiv: there are casualties and destruction

On the night of July 4, Russian troops launched a massive shelling of Kyiv. The air alert continued throughout the night, and air defense forces worked in the city and the region. There are currently 23 victims in the capital. About this informs DSNS press office.

Destruction and fires were recorded in six districts of Kyiv. In the Solomyan district, a five-story building was partially destroyed as a result of the attack, and the roof of a seven-story building caught fire — the area of ​​the fire was 2,000 square meters. m. There were also fires in the warehouse, on the territory of the service station and the garage cooperative, civil infrastructure suffered significant damage.

In the Sviatoshyn district, a 14-story apartment building was hit and caused a fire, cars caught fire, fire suppression in several non-residential buildings continues. In the Shevchenkivskyi district, a drone hit an eight-story building that was not yet occupied, the first floor was partially destroyed.

In the Darnytskyi and Holosiivskyi districts, the wreckage of enemy UAVs was recorded. More than 450 rescuers and about 100 units of State Emergency Service equipment were involved in eliminating the consequences of shelling in the capital.

“At this time, according to medical data, there are 23 victims of the enemy’s attack on the capital. 14 of them were hospitalized. The others were treated on an outpatient basis or on the spot.”, — noted Mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko.

As a result of the Russian shelling in Kyiv, the railway infrastructure was damaged. Westbound passenger trains are currently taking a rerouted route via Vyshneve and Darnytsia, resulting in delays of up to two hours. Kyiv City Express currently operates only on the northern semi-ring along the Svyatoshyn – Pochayna – Darnytsia route in both directions. Deviations from the usual schedule are possible.
