The SBU and the National Police exposed dealers who were selling fake “Reserve+” and “Diya” applications to military conscripts

The Security Service of Ukraine together with the National Police exposed dealers who sold fake “Rezerv+” and “Diya” mobile applications to conscripts, which ensured “problem-free” verification by the TCC.

Cyber specialists of the SBU liquidated a criminal group operating in the Cherkasy, Kyiv and Zhytomyr regions, which was engaged not only in the distribution of fake applications, but also in the production of fake military documents.

Among the forgeries were certificates of conscripts, certificates of military medical examination and reservation documents. The group consisted of five people. Two of them are students of one of Zhytomyr universities who developed “clones” of official applications. They entered personal data into the electronic accounts of conscripts in order to mislead TCC employees. The sale of fake programs was carried out through specially created Telegram bots.

Three more defendants, residents of the Cherkasy region, were responsible for the production and sale of fake documents. They set up an underground printing house on the territory of a private service station. The cost of one “service” reached 6,500 US dollars.

During searches in three oblasts, law enforcement officers seized false VLK reports, forged seals, mobile phones, computer equipment and other equipment used in illegal activities. One of the organizers of the scheme was informed of suspicion under the articles of 1 Art. 114-1 and ch. 3 Art. 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He faces up to eight years in prison with confiscation of property.

Currently, the issue of bringing other participants of the criminal scheme to justice is being resolved. Operational actions were carried out by SBU employees in Cherkasy and Zhytomyr regions in cooperation with the National Police under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor’s office.
