The SBU detained the ex-deputy of the Volynska OVA for organizing a scheme for evaders

The Security Service of Ukraine eliminated the scheme of evading mobilization and illegal travel abroad in Volyn. The former deputy head of the Volyn regional military administration was involved in the organization of illegal activities.

For data SBU, during her work in OVA, the ex-officer created a mechanism by which conscripted men went abroad under the guise of drivers transporting humanitarian goods. The service cost up to 5 thousand dollars from one client.

In order to implement this scheme, the ex-officer involved the head of a local charitable foundation, who helped to register conscripts as drivers for international transportation. The data of these men were entered into the “Shlyah” system, which allowed them to cross the border under the guise of volunteers.

She recruited seven more accomplices to find clients and organize the transfer of money. Law enforcement officers documented the activities of the group and detained the organizer of the scheme.

During searches of the residences of the accused, mobile phones and laptops were seized, on which evidence of illegal activity was stored.

The former official and her accomplices were charged with several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, including:

  • Part 1 of Art. 255 (creation or participation in a criminal organization),
  • Part 4 of Art. 28, Part 1 of Art. 114-1 (obstructing the activity of the Armed Forces by a group of persons),
  • Part 4 of Art. 28, Part 3 of Art. 332 (illegal transportation of persons across the state border by a criminal organization).

The detainee and her accomplices face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
