The Supreme Court of Ukraine has chosen a preventive measure for Deputy Prime Minister Chernyshov (video)
The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court (SAC) ordered Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of National Unity Oleksiy Chernyshov a preventive measure in the form of bail in the amount of UAH 120 million without detention. The prosecutor’s office asked for a similar amount of bail and to oblige him to wear an electronic bracelet, informs the press service of the Anti-Corruption Center.
Chernyshov must pay the deposit amount within five days. In case of non-fulfillment of this condition or violation of other obligations, the prosecutor may apply to the court for the application of a stricter preventive measure.
The court charged the suspect with the following duties: to appear upon summons to the detective, the prosecutor, and the court; notify about a change of place of residence and work; not to leave the borders of Kyiv without the permission of the law enforcement officers or the court; hand over foreign passports for safekeeping; refrain from communicating with other parties to the case and witnesses.
We will remind you that Chernyshov is accused of abuse of official position and receiving an illegal benefit in a particularly large amount for himself and third parties. According to NABU, it is a bribe in the form of a discount on real estate with a total value of over UAH 14.5 million. Also, according to the version of the investigation, the developer gave him the book “Collected works of Skovorody, volume one” worth 1,000 dollars. It was seized during a search of Chernyshov’s personal library.
NABU and SAP state that developers Kopistira and Tatarenko organized a scheme to illegally acquire 11 hectares of land in Kyiv for the construction of a residential complex. Chernyshov, who at that time headed the Ministry of Community Development, his adviser and other persons connected with him were involved in the implementation of the plan. Three of them have already been taken into custody with bail ranging from UAH 20 to 100 million.
