The suspension of US non-military aid had little impact on projects in the social sphere: Ministry of Social Policy

Oksana Zholnovych, Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine stated, that the suspension of non-military aid from the US has currently had little effect on the implementation of projects in the social sphere.

“Actually, not so much yet. We have a large number of agreements with partners from Europe, Great Britain, the World Bank, where assistance is systematically provided. Well, this suspension does not apply to large projects that enter the budget, it applies to the support of the public sector.” , Zholnovich noted.

The minister reported that some projects are implemented with the financial support of the American Agency for International Development (USAID). At the same time, thanks to a large number of partners, the situation currently remains under control. The Ministry of Social Policy is currently clarifying exactly which contractors will be affected by this suspension of funding.

We will remind that USAID in Ukraine received an order to suspend all projects and their expenditures. This was the result of the decision of the US State Department to suspend aid programs to other countries for 90 days to conduct an audit.
