The United States proposes to involve the military of Brazil and China in the peacekeeping contingent in Ukraine

The US is considering the possibility of deploying military contingents from non-European countries, including China and Brazil, along a potential ceasefire line in Ukraine. About this informs The Economist.

Earlier, France proposed the deployment of European forces, which would be at a safe distance from the front line in Ukraine, without necessarily committing to participate in possible future hostilities.

However, Washington believes that a peace agreement regarding Ukraine will be more stable if not only representatives of Western countries are stationed along the demarcation line. American officials propose the creation of a peacekeeping force with the participation of countries outside Europe, such as Brazil or China, which could act as a buffer zone.

We will remind that a meeting between the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and the Vice President of the USA JD Vance took place on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference. Zelenskyi emphasized the readiness to move towards real peace, and the head of the Office of the President, Andriy Yermak, emphasized the importance of joint development of a peace plan by Ukraine, the United States, and European partners.
