The US accused Iran of trying to hack the headquarters of Trump, Biden and Harris: AR

US intelligence has officially accused Iran of being responsible for cyberattacks on the campaign headquarters of US presidential candidates, including Donald Trump, Kamala Harris and former candidate Joe Biden. The attacks are part of a broader campaign by Tehran to influence the outcome of the United States election. informs Associated Press.

It is noted that although Trump’s campaign headquarters previously suspected Iran of these cyber attacks, the US government has officially confirmed for the first time that this country is behind them.

While U.S. intelligence did not elaborate on how they reached this conclusion or disclose what information they may have stolen, they said in a statement that Iran sought to gain access to people with direct influence on the presidential campaigns of both political parties.

“We have seen an increase in Iranian aggression this election cycle, including operations to influence the American public and cyber attacks targeting presidential campaigns.”, – said the statement of intelligence representatives.

Federal officials have emphasized that such hacking attacks aim to inflame discord, take advantage of internal conflicts in American society and influence the outcome of elections. Iran considers these elections to be critical for its national interests.

In response to the accusations, Iran’s representatives at the UN dismissed them as “baseless” and emphasized that Iran had neither the motive nor the intention to interfere in the US elections. They also called on the American side to provide concrete evidence of their claims.
