“I wanted to do something, somehow help, support the spirit. I came to Kyiv, found one battalion, joined. But almost immediately the commander said that there were enough soldiers and sent me back. After that, I started giving concerts and being stronger in what I can be stronger in,” commented Barskykh.

Some of them hesitated, did not know how to properly react to the events that suddenly changed their lives. However, over time, when the horrors of war became more apparent, many of them began to realize their responsibility to the people. Often these people, being in the center of attention, felt pressure from society. At first they may have felt that their support or condemnation might not have much effect, but when they saw the suffering of their people, they also felt a desire to help. Including:

A few days before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Nastya Kamenskyi and Potap went on vacation to Spain with their mothers. They were criticized for leaving Ukraine at such a stressful time and not returning to Kyiv from vacation.

However, after some time abroad, the couple joined the pro-Ukrainian movement and began actively giving charity concerts, collecting humanitarian aid, sending clothes, food and money to their homeland, as well as conducting an information war. Recently, Nastya performed at the Latin American Music Awards with the hit song “Black Eyed Peas” and in Kaunas at the concert Vienybės iłsa (Strength for the sake of unity).

Unfortunately, in this difficult time, we watched with disappointment how some Ukrainian stars, who were once symbols of our culture and national pride, stopped supporting Ukraine, they left for the Russian Federation and stayed there to live. This is painful to realize, because their talents and achievements once inspired millions of Ukrainians, but now they chose personal gain and peace, forgetting about their compatriots who fight for their lives, freedom and independence every day. Ani Lorak
The famous Ukrainian singer did not support her country in difficult times. She calls herself a “dove of peace” and continues to perform in Russia, receiving various awards for her work there.

In Ukraine, her attempts at concerts were accompanied by mass riots, because before that she made it clear that she did not care about the fate of her native country. Lorak openly stated that she will not and will never help the Armed Forces, because it is “not in her nature.” She despises the fact that Ukrainians criticize her for treason, and even stated that she moved to Russia because of oppression in her homeland. Lorak emphasized that she feels needed in Russia, and calls Philip Kirkorov her brother.

People’s deputy of Ukraine of the 7th convocation, former People’s Artist of Ukraine shocked many with her anti-Ukrainian position. A 70-year-old native of Kyiv who immigrated to the USA in 1978 and received American citizenship. Before the elections in Russia, it became known that she had submitted documents for Russian citizenship and had already received a new passport.

Although in 2019, she performed the song “Being without you” in Ukrainian, but after the start of the war, she declared her support for Russia and believes in its power, claiming that Russia protects the Ukrainian people.

A native of Cherkasy met the beginning of a full-scale war in Kyiv. She came to the capital together with her husband, Russian businessman Stanislav Yurkin, to hand over money to director Alan Badoev for the filming of the clip. All these actions of Ukrainian stars are difficult to understand and accept, especially when we see how many Ukrainians are fighting for the freedom and independence of their country. These stories remind us of how important it is to remain loyal to one’s country even in the most difficult times.

At the same time, it is important to remember those stars who not only help Ukraine with their talents, but also joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, demonstrating true courage and patriotism.
