The White House said that Zelenskyy is moving in the “wrong direction” in peace talks

According to the White House, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, is moving in the “wrong direction” in the peace negotiations. US President Donald Trump expressed his disappointment with the pace of negotiations aimed at ending the war. About this stated White House spokeswoman Caroline Levitt.

“The president (Donald Trump) is frustrated. He’s running out of patience. He wants to do what’s right for the world. He wants to see peace. He wants the killing to stop.” Levitt explained.

She emphasized the importance of the readiness of both sides — Russia and Ukraine — to end the war.

“And, unfortunately, President Zelensky seems to be moving in the wrong direction,” Levitt stressed.

The spokeswoman also emphasized that the United States is dissatisfied with Zelensky’s approach to negotiations, which they regard as “megaphone diplomacy.”

At the same time, Donald Trump criticized the statement of Volodymyr Zelensky, in which he confirmed that Ukraine will never legally recognize the occupation of Crimea by Russia. According to Trump, the current situation in Ukraine is “terrible”.

“The statement Zelensky made today will only prolong the ‘death field’, and no one wants that! We are very close to an agreement, but it’s time for a man who ‘doesn’t have trump cards’ to finally make an effort.” Trump emphasized.

We will remind that on April 22, Volodymyr Zelenskyy once again confirmed that Ukraine will never recognize the annexation of Crimea, as it contradicts the Constitution and the country’s sovereignty. He also noted that Kyiv has not received any official proposals regarding the possible discussion of the exchange or relinquishment of the temporarily occupied territories.

After that, US Vice President J.D. Vance said that the United States may withdraw from the negotiation process to end the war if it does not receive a positive response to its initiative. According to him, Washington made a “very clear offer” to both Moscow and Kyiv, and “it’s time for them to either say yes, or the US will withdraw from this process.”
