The world-famous French actor Alain Delon died

French actor Alain Delon died at the age of 88, the publication reported The World with reference to the AFP news agency. The article notes that the agency published a statement by Delon’s three children, who did not disclose the cause of their father’s death.
The statement reads:
“Alain-Fabien, Anushka, Anthony, as well as his dog Lubo are deeply saddened by the news of their father’s passing. He died peacefully at his home in Duches, surrounded by his three children and his entire family. […] His family asks everyone to respect their right to privacy at this extremely painful time of mourning.”.
Recently, Delon had been seriously ill, led a reclusive life and was experiencing a break with his family. His children from different marriages publicly accused each other of lies and intrigues related to their father’s health. In 2019, the actor suffered a stroke and also suffered from cancer and Alzheimer’s disease.
Alain Delon was called the most handsome man in world cinema. They fell in love with him, they envied him. In his youth, in Europe, he was refused roles because he was too attractive, and his career in Hollywood did not work out for him. Despite this, he still gained world fame and acted with such outstanding directors as Visconti, Antonioni and Godard.
Alain Delon was born in the suburbs of Paris in 1935. After his parents’ divorce, he lived in a foster family. During his school years, the future actor often skipped school, and later joined the army. He participated in the war in Indochina as a paratrooper, where he spent much of his time on guard duty and was later court-martialed for stealing a jeep. Returning to France, Delon worked as a waiter and circled among petty criminals.
Delon got into cinema by accident, in the second half of the 50s. He was offered to go to Hollywood to try to replace the recently deceased James Dean, but director Yves Allegre convinced him to stay in France. Delon made his film debut in 1957 when a woman steps in.
Delon’s career rose rapidly, and already in 1962 he starred in Michelangelo Antonioni and Luchino Visconti, and three years later made his Hollywood debut. Despite the lack of formal acting education, Delon played the most difficult dramatic roles. The actor also played in the theater, but his theatrical career did not develop. After an unsuccessful Visconti performance in 1961, he did not return to the stage until 1968, after which he took a break for another 28 years. During his lifetime, Delon directed three films, produced more than thirty, and wrote the screenplays for another ten films.
