Trump administration resumes supply of some weapons to Ukraine

The administration of US President Donald Trump resumed the supply of some weapons to Ukraine a week after the Pentagon suspended some shipments. About this informs Associated Press.
Among the weapons going to Ukraine are 155mm ammunition and high-precision GMLRS rockets. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth last week ordered a temporary halt to some supplies to give the Pentagon a chance to assess its own stockpiles. This decision came as a surprise to the White House.
Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems, high-precision GMLRS missiles, Hellfire missiles, howitzer shells and other types of weapons were affected by the restrictions. This came as a surprise not only to Ukrainian officials and international partners, but also to American lawmakers and representatives of the Trump administration itself, including the State Department.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that Kyiv had not received official notifications about the suspension or change of the agreed aid delivery schedule. At the same time, they added that they are guided by “actual data” and are clarifying the circumstances.
It will be recalled that on July 4, US President Donald Trump had a telephone conversation with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi. The dialogue took place against the background of Trump’s dissatisfaction with the actions of Vladimir Putin and the suspension of American arms supplies to Ukraine.
On July 5, Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that US President Donald Trump is “ready to help” Ukraine in matters of supplying air defense systems. Immediately after the announcement of new deliveries by Trump, the Pentagon said that the supply of weapons had already begun. On July 7, President Donald Trump announced that the United States would send more weapons to Ukraine to bolster its defenses against Russian attacks.
