Trump doubled tariffs on goods from China

US President Donald Trump decided to double tariffs on Chinese goods from 10% to 20%. About this informs press office of the White House.

“The White House says Trump has signed an executive order doubling tariffs on China to 20%, effective shortly after midnight in Washington”. – the message says.

The directive states that “Beijing has not taken adequate steps” to solve the problem of supplying illegal fentanyl to the United States.

“In recognition of the fact that the PRC has not taken adequate measures to mitigate the crisis of illegal drug distribution, Section 2(a) of Executive Order No. 14195 is amended by striking out the words “10 percent” and inserting in their place “20 percent,” – says the decree.

At the same time, the PRC is considering the possibility of retaliatory measures, in particular with regard to American agriculture and food products.
