U.S. priority is peace talks, not continuation of war: Leavitt

White House press secretary Caroline Leavitt said that the US priority is peace talks, not the continuation of the war. About this informs Fox News.

“We’re no longer going to just write blank checks for a war that’s going very far without real lasting peace. And that’s what the president wants.”, – emphasized Leavitt.

She also accused Zelensky of not being sufficiently grateful for the support from the US and that his actions prevented the signing of an important economic agreement. Levitt emphasized that Donald Trump remains committed to peace talks, but Zelensky needs to change his attitude in order to conclude an agreement.

The press secretary also noted that Trump made it clear: the situation is complicated by Zelensky’s intransigence, and the US president will not give in if it concerns the interests of the American people.

We will remind that on February 28, during an official visit to Washington, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi met with Donald Trump at the White House. During the negotiations between the leaders, a dispute arose regarding the possibility of signing a peace agreement and ending the war in Ukraine.
