“Ukraine can seize the initiative on the battlefield already this summer”: Senator Graham

Senator Lindsey Graham expressed confidence that Ukraine can change the course of the war already this summer by seizing the initiative on the battlefield. According to him, now it is especially important to strengthen support for Kyiv in order to help Ukrainian forces achieve decisive successes in the fight against Russia.
He writes an interview about it CBS News.
“It’s time to give them F-16s, let them fly the planes, let them use [Western] long-range artillery to hit targets inside Russia. Go after Putin’s assets wherever they are, around the world. Go on the offensive. I think that this summer Ukraine will restore military momentum [on the battlefield]“, Graham emphasized.
According to him, such a move would be a serious blow to Russia, although he admitted that the administration of Joe Biden is unlikely to decide on it.
“We have Russian money in America that we must confiscate. We must make Russia a state sponsor of terrorism under US law. When I suggested it to President Zelensky, he lit up like a Christmas tree. Making Russia a state sponsor of terrorism under American law would be a very strong blow to Russia.”, – summed up Graham.
In addition, Senator Graham emphasized the importance of supporting Ukraine in the war against Russia, seeing in this a great potential for future partnership between the two countries.
“If the US helps Ukraine win the war now, then official Kyiv can become the best business partner for Washington that we have ever dreamed of. This is a very big deal – how will the war in Ukraine end. Let’s help them win a war we cannot afford to lose. Let’s find a way out of this war. Allowing Putin to grab $10 or $12 trillion for vitally important minerals that Ukraine owns, which he will share with China, is simply ridiculousGraham added.
The senator also emphasized that the further development of events in Ukraine is of great importance for the world community and security, calling for decisive actions to support the Ukrainian people.
