Ukraine is preparing to introduce Wi-Fi 6E technology

The National Commission for the Regulation of Electronic Communications (NKEK) turned to the Ministry of Digital Transformation with a proposal to introduce the latest Wi-Fi 6E radio technology (frequencies 5945-6425 MHz) in Ukraine, by adding the relevant frequencies to the Radio Frequency Spectrum Allocation and Use Plan. About this reported press service of the commission.
The report notes that the increase in bandwidth for Wi-Fi networks thanks to the additional 480 MHz of frequency spectrum will significantly increase the speed of the Internet connection, reduce delays and increase the amount of simultaneously transmitted information for Wi-Fi users.
The conditions for using Wi-Fi 6E in Ukraine will comply with European standards: the technology will be used on the basis of general authorization without the need to assign a radio frequency.
We will remind you that in the summer of 2024, the European Business Association appealed to the Ukrainian government to implement Wi-Fi 6E technology, which was adopted at the international level as early as 2020. According to the Wi-Fi Alliance, this technology is already approved for use in the European Union and most countries in the world, with the exception of some African countries.
