Ukraine is ready to build food hubs in Africa: Zelenskyi (video)

Today, May 25, on Africa Day, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the African people with a video message. The head of state emphasized that Ukraine wants to build food hubs in Africa.

We have broken the naval blockade of our ports, initiated by the Russian fleet, and resumed sea exports, as well as the humanitarian supply of our food. Grain from Ukraine already adds to the food security of such countries as Egypt, Algeria, Libya, Nigeria, Sudan, Ethiopia, and Somalia. And we are expanding our food supply. We are ready to help more. We are ready to build food hubs in Africa and invest our experience in the technological development of your countries”, – said Zelensky.

The president also assured that Ukraine will resume educational exchanges with African countries after the war and is ready to help strengthen the educational sovereignty of African states.

Ukraine has always treated thousands and thousands of students from African countries with respect who have come to study at our universities for decades. It is clear that now, during the war on our land, educational exchange is limited. However, it will definitely be restored – and on the basis of modern needs,” Zelenskyi noted. – emphasized Zelensky.

Zelenskyi also emphasized the recent significant expansion of Ukraine’s diplomatic presence in Africa, opening ten new embassies at the same time. He confirmed his intention to continue this process by strengthening cooperation and mutually beneficial relations with African countries.

The President emphasized the principles of mutual benefit and respect for the sovereignty of other nations, which are the basis of Ukraine’s foreign policy. He emphasized the importance of peace, respect and development in a world where formulas of cooperation take precedence over conflict and exploitation.  The head of state expressed hope for expanding cooperation with African countries and invited African leaders to the Peace Summit.
