In the course of a coordinated operation, Ukrainian forces managed to return the bodies of 140 soldiers who died in the war to the territory controlled by Ukraine.

Most of the fallen heroes (112) gave their lives defending our land in the Donetsk direction. Also, 20 fallen soldiers from Luhansk, 5 from Sumy, 2 from Zaporizhzhya and 1 from Kherson directions returned home.
Currently, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are transporting bodies and remains to designated state institutions. There, law enforcement officers and forensic medical experts will conduct all necessary examinations and identify the dead.
After each warrior’s identity is established, his body will be handed over to his family for a dignified burial.
