Ukraine’s first ballistic missile was successfully tested: Zelenskyi

Ukraine continues to strengthen its military-industrial complex, taking an important step in creating its own defense power – the first ballistic missile. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyi during a press conference at the Forum of Heads of State Institutions held on August 27. informs “Ukrainian Pravda”.
The President announced that the tests of the new ballistic missile were successful.
“At first I thought it was too early to announce this, but the test was successful, and this is an important event for our country. I congratulate our defense-industrial complex on this achievement.”, – said Zelensky.
The president did not disclose the details of the new missile, but emphasized that he decided to share this information so that society could appreciate the work of Ukrainian specialists who work tirelessly to strengthen the country’s defense capabilities.
Last year, it became known that Ukraine is working on a new version of Neptune missiles designed to hit ground targets. The anti-ship complex “Neptune” became widely popular after the destruction of the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation – the cruiser “Moskva”, which became the greatest military success since the Falklands War.
Among other developments of the Ukrainian defense industry during the war was the modernization of the Vilkha complex missiles, which can now hit targets at a distance of up to 150 km instead of the previous 90-120 km.
Recently, Zelenskyi also talked about the new Ukrainian missile-drone complex “Palyanytsia”, which was created in a year and a half. The main characteristics of this missile, including the range and warhead, remain classified.
