Ukraine wants to strengthen responsibility for curfew violators

The Cabinet of Ministers approved a draft law aimed at strengthening responsibility for curfew violations. About this reported people’s deputy Oleksiy Honcharenko.

According to the document, it is proposed to introduce administrative responsibility for being in public places during the prohibited time without the appropriate passes. A fine in the amount of 50 to 100 tax-free minimum incomes of citizens is provided for such violations.

“Fines will not be applied to people who go to shelters, provide medical (pre-medical) aid or accompany injured and seriously ill patients, evacuate or rescue property and in other cases of threat to citizens’ lives.” – the message says.

In addition, the initiative provides for fines for violating evacuation rules, in particular for entering or staying in settlements where mandatory evacuation is carried out, without a special permit. In this case, a fine in the amount of 30 to 50 tax-free minimum incomes of citizens is provided.

The draft law is currently not final, as it has yet to be considered by the Verkhovna Rada.
