Ukraine will have to give up part of its territories: Slovak Defense Minister

The Minister of Defense of Slovakia, Robert Kalyniak, said that Ukraine may have to give up part of its territories. About this informs TASR agency.
According to the minister, this scenario becomes obvious due to the “reality on the ground”. Kalynyak believes that future foreign policy should be a priority for Ukraine, not the issue of territorial borders. At the same time, he emphasized that Russia is the aggressor in this conflict.
“Ukraine must understand that its geographical location will not change – it will not be between Germany and Switzerland, but will always have the longest border with Russia. Undoubtedly, Russia has violated international law and exceeded all permissible limits, but it is important to react equally to similar conflicts in other countries regions of the world and apply the same standards to them”, – said Kalyniak.
He emphasized that it is important for Slovakia that the war ends as soon as possible through an armistice and further peace negotiations. The Office of the President of Ukraine and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have not yet commented on the statement of the Slovak Minister of Defense. Previously, the president of Slovakia, Peter Pellegrini, also suggested that for the sake of peace, Ukraine may be forced to accept the loss of territories.
