Ukrainian agricultural exports amounted to over $11 billion in half a year

In the first half of 2025, the export of agri-food products from Ukraine amounted to 11.3 billion US dollars, which is 9% less compared to the same period last year. About this reported Mykola Pugachev, deputy director of the Institute of Agrarian Economics.

According to his data, the share of agricultural products in the total volume of exports of Ukraine for the first half of 2025 was about 57%. The main sales markets remain the countries of the European Union, Asia and Africa, which together formed 92% of the value of Ukrainian exports of agricultural products.

Turkey, which is traditionally one of the top three buyers of Ukrainian food, became the leader among importing countries by a significant margin. Products worth 1.445 billion US dollars were exported to this country, which corresponds to about 13% in the geographical structure of agricultural exports.

Spain, which by the results of the first half of 2024 led the rating, this year found itself in the second position with a share of 8%. Rounding out the top ten importers of Ukrainian agricultural products is Algeria, which purchased goods worth 289 million US dollars.

The structure of agricultural exports is still dominated by five main commodity groups: grain crops ($3.99 billion), oils and fats ($3.16 billion), oil crops ($996 million), food industry residues and waste ($741 million), meat and offal ($581 million). Together, these categories provided 84% of the total volume of agro-food exports of Ukraine in monetary terms.
