US does not want to be involved in war in Ukraine and seeks “peace through strength”: Speaker Johnson

Speaker of the US House of Representatives Mike Johnson statedthat Russia’s war against Ukraine has dragged on, and the United States has no intention of remaining involved in this conflict and seeks “peace through strength.”

“This conflict has been going on for too long. Too many innocent people are dying. We absolutely do not want the United States to be involved in this war any longer.” Johnson explained.

According to him, the number of victims as a result of the Russian-Ukrainian war is constantly increasing. He emphasized that the United States adheres to the approach of “restoring peace through force.”

“We hope this will end soon. We are counting on President Trump to act decisively to achieve peace through strength.”, — Johnson added.

At the same time, the speaker of the House of Representatives of the US Congress said that the Congress will not consider any initiatives regarding new sanctions against Russia until the end of the ultimatum that Donald Trump presented to Moscow. According to Johnson, the Trump administration should be given the opportunity to implement its planned steps.

Despite this, some congressmen continue to advocate the introduction of tougher sanctions against Russia. At the same time, the leadership of the Republican Party in both houses of Congress emphasizes that no bill on sanctions will be brought to a vote without the approval of the US president.
